FitBark GPS (2nd Generation)
To check for coverage, please head over to the carriers supported (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile) and search their coverage maps filtering for “LTE-M” networks.
FitBark GPS (1st Generation)
As long as you have LTE-M Verizon coverage in your area, the FitBark GPS will have a signal. We suggest checking out Verizon’s coverage map to ensure that your FitBark GPS will work near your home and its surrounding areas. On Verizon’s map page, click “Expand Interactive Map”, then filter by “LTE-M”. As of Q2 2020, Verizon’s LTE-M coverage (designed for smart devices) appears to match regular Verizon 4G LTE coverage, with the exclusion of certain US territories such as Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
What’s LTE-M?
LTE-M allows Internet of Things (IoT) devices to connect directly to a 4G network, without a gateway and while running on batteries. You can think of this technology as the IoT version of LTE. LTE-M coverage might be different from the coverage you get on your phone on Verizon’s LTE network.
