How to sync a FitBark device

Your FitBark device stores your dog’s activity and sleep information 24/7. A daily sync is recommended but not required.

The FitBark Mobile App uses Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) technology to sync with your FitBark device.

You must have Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) enabled on your mobile device as well as an internet connection to sync your FitBark device. If your mobile device is in airplane mode, it will not sync until you turn off airplane mode or manually turn Bluetooth, as well as your internet connection back on.

To initiate a sync, please go to your dog’s home page.

This page can be accessed from your “Home Pack” page, clicking on the picture of your dog.

Within a few seconds, the arrows at the top right corner of the screen should become solid white and start spinning (if you have more than an hour of data to sync, a green progress bar will appear at the top of the screen). When fetching, your dog’s activity data is transferred and saved to your mobile device via Bluetooth 4.0. Your phone’s internet connection then transfers the information to our servers, who interpret it and make it immediately available to all the users associated with your dog (including you) on their mobile devices or web dashboard.

If no network connection is available (or our server is under maintenance), the mobile app downloads the FitBark’s data via Bluetooth to your mobile device but is unable to send it to our servers to interpret. This means that although the data is in your mobile device, you can’t view it until a data connection is available. In this circumstance please do not delete or uninstall the FitBark app from your mobile device.
