Regular firmware updates

From time to time, we will update your FitBark device's embedded software to add new features and fix certain issues.

When an update is available, the app will automatically prompt you from your dog’s home screen (if you know that an update is being pushed to you, please wait for at least one minute on your dog’s home screen).

Please make sure to stay next to your dog’s FitBark while the app is performing the update and leave your FitBark app open on your smartphone during the entire process.

Firmware update of a new FitBark GPS

Upon activation of a new subscription, your FitBark GPS might need a more extensive firmware update (which will take a bit longer – say up to an hour).

This larger upgrade happens automatically over-the-air, only when the device is being charged (so we do not drain power while in use). We will notify you on your phone, with a push notification, when the update starts and after the upgrade has been completed.

Please leave the device plugged in and do not reset it while the update is in progress. The FitBark GPS will not be responsive during this time.
