FitBark GPS users, please note:

These steps require you to have the FitBark GPS with you and must be completed within the range of a Wi-Fi safe place.

Create your user profile

After downloading the FitBark App from either the iOS App Store or Google Play Store, open the app and create your account by tapping “Create New Account” or “Login with Facebook”. This is your personal profile. We’ll create your pup’s profile later.

Once this is done, you’ll receive an email address confirmation message. Click the link to confirm or, should the email be incorrect, return to the FitBark application and edit it.

If you’ve been invited by another user to become an owner, follower, friend or vet of a dog, please accept the invite from the email you received.

Pair the FitBark device to your phone

After signing up for a FitBark account, we’re ready to pair your FitBark device. Make sure Bluetooth is on in your iOS or Android device and select “Set Up Device”.

Plug the FitBark device into the charger only when requested by the app. If your FitBark device is already plugged in, please unplug it and plug it back in. The LED on the FitBark will start blinking rapidly (meaning it’s in pairing mode).

Wait 10-20 seconds until the “Next” button appears. When the FitBark App connects to the FitBark device, the screen will display the text “Woof!”.

Create your dog’s profile

After the device pairing process, you’ll be ready to create a profile for your pup.

Learn how to fix the FitBark device to your dog’s collar (Important!)

Learn more about how to attach the FitBark device to the collar with the zip ties you can find in the box. This video is critical to ensure the safety of your pet and the quality of the health data collected.

Firmware Update

At this point, you may be prompted to update the device’s firmware. Please follow the on-screen instructions and sit back anywhere between a couple of minutes to an hour, depending on how extensive the update is.

This completes the setup for a FitBark 2. For FitBark GPS users, please continue below.

Create your first Wi-Fi Safe Place

Next, you’ll be prompted to create your first Wi-Fi Safe Place. The Safe Place feature provides you with entry/exit notifications, and allows the FitBark GPS to save significantly on power. We recommend setting your pup’s first safe place at home so his/her health data syncs regularly (typically every hour if no owners are nearby).

Select a circular or polygonal shape for your safe place. Long-tap the home icon to move the location center. If you chose a circular shape, tap on the slider to change the diameter. If you chose a polygonal shape, long-tap the corners to move them.

You will be able to add more Wi-Fi safe places later from the app settings. Generally speaking, the more Wi-Fi safe places you configure, the longer battery life you’ll be able to achieve.

At this time, the FitBark GPS only supports 2.4 GHz networks. Wi-Fi hidden networks and Public Wi-Fi hot spots are not supported.

If your Wi-Fi network is not displayed in the app, please unplug the charger from the FitBark GPS, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect it and wait 30 seconds.

Choose a subscription plan

The FitBark GPS requires an active subscription. All new subscriptions come with a 30-day money back guarantee from the time of activation. Select a plan and link your debit or credit card. It usually takes a few minutes to activate a new plan, but occasionally this may take up to 24 hours. Please reach out to us via the mobile app chat if you encounter any delays.

Congrats! You’re all ready to get fetching with your new FitBark GPS.
